Nestled amidst the greenery covering of Kerio Valley, a region enveloped in strife, a ray of hope is breaking through. Fueled by the unwavering zeal to change the narrative of their community, groups of women through their ‘Women Talking Circles’, have come together to share messages of peace. They promote dialogue, to change the mindsets of their communities.

The transformative ‘Women Talking Circles’ have not only fostered unity but also created opportunities for collaboration on income-generating activities. These activities have fostered diversification of income and built the economic resilience of the women. The absence of alternative income sources had left many families vulnerable to poverty, especially after livestock had been stolen, leaving the community in a state of despair.

The income-generating initiatives have been instrumental in giving women the power to voice their opinions. By supporting their families, and ensuring their children go to school, they have become agents of change.

Help us transform lives

Over the past decade, FCA Kenya has impacted approximately 160,000 livelihoods in Kerio Valley. While significant progress has been made, a lot more remains to be accomplished.

This February and March, we are raising funds to support 1,000 more women to be able to earn an income and become economically independent.

Empower Her Rise!

Our campaign #EmpowerHerRise seeks to raise 6 million by 31^st March 2024.

The funds raised will go towards acquiring start-up kits to support 40 women groups in Kerio Valley. The start-up kits include Beehives, irrigation kits (water tank, water pump, generator) and Livestock (dairy goat, cow, chicken).
